Hayworth Not Worried About 'Gridlock' In Washington
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Republican Dr. Nan Hayworth's campaign sign has been altered -- from Hayworth for Congress to Hayworth IN Congress.
Hayworth beat two-term incumbent Democrat John Hall on Tuesday and said she's looking forward to working with President Barack Obama.
"If we go in anticipating gridlock, gridlock might be just what we get. So let's go in saying, let's see how we can work together as Americans," said Hayworth.
WCBS 880 Reporter Catherine Cioffi asked Hayworth about the campaign promises made and how the congresswoman-elect plans to accomplish them.

"What I've said is what I intend to do. I intend to work tirelessly on broad-based tax relief, work to curb the massive spending, we need to refuse further bailouts and we need to re-tool the new health law. Big plate of things to do," said Hayworth.
The eye doctor has put away her eye chart and is now focusing on what can get done in Washington. Hayworth explained what she thinks her new role will be in the GOP House.
"Energy and commerce, education, labor but I would be privileged to serve on any of our committees," said Hayworth.
