Harrison Wants St. Vincent's Property Sold So Taxes Can Be Collected
HARRISON, NY (WCBS 880) - Thirty-seven acres of land that used to be St. Vincent's Hospital is now on the market.
Harrison Mayor Joan Walsh doesn't know if it will be turned into homes or office space.

But she does say right now, the property doesn't pay taxes to the town.
So, selling the land would be great for Harrison.
"It is a zoned one-acre residential, but it has a significant amount of wetlands on it," she says.
However, she's not optimistic about a buyer.
"It's been vacant for a long time. Nobody's expressed any interest in it. I'm not sure that people are going to want to be next to a hospital," says Walsh.
But she holds out hope, saying, "There are a great many possibilities. We're open to almost anything."
The property is for sale for $9 million.
