Harlem Residents Hold Rally Against Police Violence
HARLEM, N.Y. (CBS 2) -- Community groups are calling for federal oversight of the city's probe into last weekend's police-involved shootings in Harlem.
Dozens of people attended a rally Thursday at the site of the shootings, including one of several people wounded.
Rally organizers say there's a history of problems with police in Harlem.
"We have heard stories from our youth, from grandmothers," said one man. "From a lot of folks in the community who have been subject to unwarranted and unnecessary police harassment."
Police opened fire at last Sunday's block party, after they say someone fired at them.
One man was killed. Six others, including two officers, were injured.
