Hackensack Man Accused Of Sexually Abusing Girl For Years Starting At Age 6

HACKENSACK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A Hackensack, New Jersey man was arrested and charged this week on allegations that he engaged in ongoing sexual abuse with a girl for some five years starting when she was 6.

Olayo F. Matamoros-Anazco, 53, was arrested Thursday following an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor's office Special Victims Unit, according to a news release from the office. He was charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Prosecutors alleged that Matamoros-Anazco had inappropriate sexual contact with the girl starting when she was 6 and continuing until she was 11. The girl is now 13, and recently told a school guidance counselor about the alleged abuse, prosecutors said.

School officials notified Hackensack police, who in turn notified prosecutors, the release said. The girl gave specific details of the alleged abuse during an interview in Paramus, prosecutors said.

Bail for Matamoros-Anazco was set at $200,000 by Hackensack Municipal Court Presiding Judge Louis J. Dinice, prosecutors said.

He was being held at the Bergen County Jail Friday night.
