Guyanese Immigrant Shot, Killed Inside Brooklyn Apt.
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 53-year-old immigrant from Guyana was shot and killed in his Brooklyn apartment on Saratoga Avenue early Monday morning.
Aubrey Mercurius had just come home from a night out drinking with friends. His girlfriend told police she heard an argument in the apartment and got out of bed to find a man fleeing and her boyfriend bleeding from a gunshot wound to his chest, 1010 WINS' Sonia Rincon reported.

Police are not sure is the suspect followed him home or was someone Mercurius knew and invited in.
The man's brother said no one had a problem with him.
"We hope that the cops work on this swiftly and we get justice," he said.
One neighbor who spoke to Rincon said the building was dangerous and that she didn't feel safe.
"If there would be cameras in here -- which there [have] been enough incidents in this building for there to be cameras in here -- this might have not happened," the woman said.
Mercurius was a construction worker just one day shy of his 54th birthday.
According to friends, Mercurius had three grown sons, worked hard and stayed out of trouble.
"I cannot think of anyone who want to do him harm or anything," one friend said.
