Officials: Man Kept Huge Stockpile Of Guns, Ammo In Rego Park Apartment
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Queens man has been arrested after investigators found a cache of weapons, including handguns and shotguns, in his one-bedroom apartment, authorities said.
Guo Shou, 33, was arrested Tuesday night on reckless endangerment and weapons possession charges after investigators raided his apartment in the Rego Park section of Queens.
Police seized 15 handguns, two shotguns, more than 45,000 rounds of ammunition and 225 pounds of smokeless gunpowder. They say Shou also had unassembled parts of assault rifles and bulletproof vests. Authorities say he had a license for all but one of the guns.
Prosecutors say Shou was arrested for allegedly "recklessly creating a threat to public safety'' by stockpiling the weapons and ammunition.
Police said Shou has no criminal history.
Shou's attorney did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment
