LISTEN: WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reports
There have been over a dozen stabbings, shootings, and two murders in the last few months in the Long Island community.
Now, Dr. William Spencer from the housing authority says the Guardian Angels will be patrolling the streets at least through the end of the year.
"I think the police are doing a fantastic job, but they're extended. They're using overtime, and they are fighting gang violence head-on. It's not, long-term, going to do anything to change the environment," Spencer told WCBS 880 reporter Sophia Hall.
