Group Marches For Peace In Wake Of Shootings In Huntington Station
HUNTINGTON STATION, NY (WCBS 880) -- Gang violence has plagued Huntington Station and now, the community is coming together to march for peace.

The march began at an apartment complex on East 9th Street in Huntington Station where three young men were shot and injured last weekend. The suspects are believed to be gang members.
"I think it is really important to make Huntington Station, which has so much history and culture, to make it better," said 14-year-old Sabrina Palacios. "With all this violence going on, it kind of downgrades people's idea on the community."
"The community is not going to accept this any longer," said march organizer Ed Perez. "There has been one too many acts of violence."
Perez, who is the president of the Friends of Huntington Station Latin Quarter, says the community needs to get involved to help put an end to gang violence.
Participants held a prayer vigil before marching a half-mile north from the site of the shootings.
