Greenwich Village Bomb Plotter Pleads Guilty To Explosives Charges
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A man accused of plotting to blow up an iconic New York City structure has pleaded guilty to explosives possession charges.
As WCBS 880's Irene Cornell reported, Aaron Greene pleaded guilty and will get a seven-year prison sentence for possession of explosives that were found in the Greenwich Village apartment he shared with girlfriend Morgan Gliedman.
The two were accused of plotting to blow up the Washington Square Park arch.

Investigators found hexamethylene triperoxide diamine, or HMTD, a highly explosive ingredient used in bomb making in Greene and Gliedman's apartment in December, police said.
Police seized two shotguns, a flare launcher, nine high-capacity rifle magazines, various handwritten notebooks containing formulas, literature on how to make booby traps and homemade weapons, CBS News reported earlier this year.
According to court papers, Gliedman told investigators that her boyfriend suggested buying more guns. She said he was concerned that gun possession laws would be tightened in the wake of the Newtown school massacre.
Gliedman, 27, gave birth to her first child shortly after she was arrested in the bomb plot.
Her attorney blames Greene for all her criminal troubles and her relapse into drug use, Cornell reported.
Her case is still pending.
Gliedman and her 7-month-old daughter Melody are living with her parents.
Gliedman, who is free on bail, has been fighting in family court to keep Greene and his family away from their baby girl.
She is the daughter of a prominent real estate agent and a top-rated New York oncologist.
Greene, 31, and Gliedman, 27, were arrested in December after a police search of their home turned up papers titled "The Terrorist Encyclopedia" and "Deadly Homemade Weapons." Officials also found 7 grams of HMTD, forcing the evacuation of three buildings in Greenwich Village.
