'Green Monday' Proves to Be Busy Day for Fed-Ex
NEW YORK (WCBS 880/1010 WINS/CBS 2) - We've had Black Friday and Cyber Monday... but what's Green Monday?
Green Monday is one of the busiest online shopping days of the year and according to ComScore, an online marketing research company, is usually the Monday that falls at least 10 days before Christmas Day.
For workers at Fed Ex, this is the time of year when workers really earn their keep.
WCBS 880 reporter Peter Haskell talked with Neil Conley, senior manager for their Manhattan facility, who told him Monday was the busiest day ever at Fed Ex.

"This morning we had to start 60 minutes earlier and we had to juggle everybody's schedule," said Conley.
Edris Christopher was out on the street making pick-ups and deliveries he describes this time of year as, "Crazy, goes like crazy!"
Workers at the West Side facility were handling twice their normal volume of packages -- Monday they handled more than 55,000 packages.
Al Jones of 1010 WINS was with the drivers on Manhattan's West Side where they said not only are they delivering, there were a lot of pick-ups Monday as well.

In a likely good sign for the economy, volume for Fed Ex is up 12 percent this year.
Last year, Green Monday was the fifth busiest online shopping day, with sales totaling $854 million.
CBS Early Show Consumer Correspondent Susan Koeppen said $1 billion in sales was expected on Monday alone.
