Great Neck Housekeeper Charged With Kidnapping Former Employer's Baby
GREAT NECK, NY (WCBS 880/AP) - A housekeeper on Long Island is accused of kidnapping her former employer's baby.

Detectives in Nassau County say 55-year-old Gloria Suarez had been fired from her job in Great Neck because of her work performance but was allowed to stay at the home until she found a new place to live.
The child's father told police he became suspicious when Suarez left with the baby Wednesday morning but did not take the stroller. Suarez had worked for the family for three months.
Police found Suarez at a railroad station with the child. They say she refused to hand over the baby and resisted arrest.
"We don't know where she was planning to go, but she felt the child would be better off in her care than the care of her parents. That was the motive," Nassau County Police Sgt. Steven Zeth told WCBS 880's Sophia Hall.
The child wasn't harmed.
Suarez faces arraignment today.
"We believe her intention was to keep the baby," Zeth said. "She had no right or permission to take this child out of the house."
