Granderson Hits Inside-The-Park Home Run
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Curtis Granderson hit an inside-the-park home run for the New York Yankees in the seventh inning against the Minnesota Twins on Sunday.
Granderson's drive off of Jose Mijares hit high off the out-of-town scoreboard in right-center field at Target Field. It got away from both center fielder Ben Revere and right fielder Jason Kubel, and Granderson motored around the bases for his first inside job since Aug. 26, 2007, when he played for the Tigers.
Granderson now has three inside-the-park homers in his career.
It was the first inside-the-park homer by a Yankees player since Derek Jeter did it in July 2010 against Kansas City.
It was Granderson's 35th home run of the season.
