Grand Central Terminal Makes List Of 'Great Public Spaces'
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Grand Central Terminal has made the 2013 top 10 list of Great Public Spaces.
The American Planning Association says it singled out the Beaux Arts train station because of its influence on American architecture, engineering, planning and culture.

Grand Central is the world's largest train station. The 48-acre compound has 32 miles of track and boasts a Tiffany-glass clock, vaulted ceiling and arched windows. It was declared a city landmark in 1967.
The Essex County Branch Brook Park in Newark also made the list.
Among the other places making the APA's Great Public Spaces list are the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail in Anchorage, Alaska; the Grand Park in Los Angeles and The Broadwalk in Hollywood, Fla.
