Graffiti Reading 'Allah Wakbar' Found At WTC Memorial Site
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD is looking into an incident in which the phrase "Allah Wakbar" was found written at the World Trade Center memorial site, police confirmed to 1010 WINS on Thursday night.
The graffiti -- written in pink and black marker -- was found on a granite seat in the memorial's plaza, police said.
Police were called on Tuesday and the words were removed and no other graffiti was found.
The incident happened not long after a group of students from a Brooklyn school were kicked out of the memorial after throwing items, including trash into the reflecting pools.
