GQ Ranks Pleasantville As 2nd Best Smelling 'City' In The World
PLEASANTVILLE, NY (CBSNewYork) -- Pleasantville in Westchester County has been named as the second best smelling city in the world, according to a survey by GQ magazine.
The magazine says it's Pleasantville's trees and plants that contribute to its pungent aroma.
"When you close your eyes you get grass and then the smell of 'America as it was,' whenever that might mean for your nose," GQ says on its website. "If Normal Rockwell's paintings emitted a scent, this is what it would be."

But it is a drag when the facts get in the way. Pleasantville is a village, not a city. Either way, Mayor Peter Scherer is happy with the honor and apologized to the other losing cities.
"We send our regrets to the towns we beat out -- New Orleans, San Fransisco, Rome, Paris -- better luck next time," he said. "It's tough to beat a place called Pleasantville."
The magazine picked Los Angeles as the top smelling city while Paris ranked the worst.
