Gov. Paterson To Meet Archbishop Dolan Over Mosque
NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- Governor Paterson and Archbishop Timothy Dolan were scheduled to meet Tuesday afternoon over the controversy over the proposed Ground Zero mosque.
The private meeting will be held at the Democratic governor's Manhattan office.
Opponents said building it so close to the World Trade Center site would be insensitive to 9/11 families.
Supporters said the religious freedom of Muslims must be protected.
The Archbishop volunteered to mediate the standoff, and the governor offered to help the relocate the project.
The developers have not said if they'd consider another site.
