Gotham Gossipist: Will Kardashian's Divorce Affect Sales Of The Vera Wang Look-A-Like Dress?
By Kimberly Rae Miller
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Thought the hoopla surrounding Kate Middleton's wedding gown was a little ridiculous?
In the midst of the media whirlwind brought on by the Kardashian-Humphries catastrophe earlier this week, the bridal industry is just one of the victims.
Wedding gown super store, David's Bridal, was scheduled to release a series of Kim-inspired wedding gowns, scheduled to hit shelves in February.
Vera Wang, the designer of Kardashian's multiple wedding day wardrobe changes, worked with the store to create affordable replicas for brides everywhere.
But apparently, some in the industry are concerned that Kim's divorce will mean little success for the dress. A source for PageSix told the paper, "Some on the sales side worry the dresses are cursed."
Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian's mother, Kris Jenner, was in New York this week doing damage control on the talk show circuit.
It appears that the K-clan aren't the only folks trying to minimize the catastrophe that was Kim's 72-Day marriage to Kris Humphries.
The E! Network had emergency meetings this week about how to move forward with the Kardashian wedding special and the new family reality series, Kourtney & Kim Take New York.
