Got $2.50? Mets Roll Back Some Ticket Prices For Santana-Strasburg
NEW YORK (WFAN) -- What's the next best thing to a free game on Easter Sunday?
How about a pitchers' duel for less than three bucks.
The red-hot Mets are offering a limited number of tickets at $2.50 apiece for their matchup against Washington on April 11.
The game, scheduled to start at 1:10 p.m., is expected to pit New York ace Johan Santana against Nationals phenom Stephen Strasburg.
Wednesday's rollback is part of the franchise's season-long 50th anniversary celebration.
The Mets played their inaugural game at St. Louis on April 11, 1962, back when New Yorkers could watch their new National League home team at the Polo Grounds for -- you guessed it -- $2.50.
Seats can be purchased online at Mets.com/MetsBirthday or fee-free at the Citi Field ticket booth.
Fans can "RSVP" for the discounted game by Wednesday at 9 a.m., the team announced in an email to subscribers.
