Gillibrand Optimistic About Bipartisan Efforts
NEW YORK (CBS 2) – Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand is optimistic about President Obama's State of the Union address.
In a symbolic gesture of bipartisanship, both of New York's senators will move across the aisle to sit with Republican counterparts to create more cooperative efforts ahead.
"I'm going to be sitting with Sen. John Thune, and this will be very good. Not only are we showing, it's just a small measure, it's a symbol. It's a symbol of what's to come," Gillibrand said.
Meanwhile, creating jobs now and long term will be the main focus of the address.
