Gillibrand, DioGuardi Clash In First Debate
NEW YORK (AP) -- Democratic New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and Republican challenger Joe DioGuardi are clashing in their first debate over health care, terror trials and each other's trustworthiness.
Gillibrand, a former House member appointed to replace former Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, was pressed Friday on why she changed her position on gun control as a senator. Gillibrand had supported gun owners' rights, but now says she's focused on keeping illegal guns out of cities and ending gun trafficking.

DioGuardi says that shift shows she's inconsistent.
DioGuardi says he would repeal the health care law passed by Congress last year. Gillibrand calls it a strong bill.
Both candidates say the alleged mastermind of the 9/11 terror attacks should not be tried in New York.
