Comedian Gilbert Gottfried dies "after a long illness," family says
NEW YORK -- Comedian and actor Gilbert Gottfried has died at age 67.
His family announced his death on social media Tuesday afternoon.
According to family, he had been battling "a long illness."
Gottfried was born in Brooklyn and spent decades doing standup.
He is survived by his wife and two children.
