Giants' Weston Richburg Becomes First Player Ejected For Two Personal Fouls
This offseason one of the biggest rules changes the NFL instituted was the ejection of any player that accrues two personal foul penalties in the same game.
After receiving a personal foul penalty early in the game against the Redskins, Giants' center Weston Richburg took a shot at Redskins' cornerback Josh Norman at the end of an Odell Beckham Jr. catch and run and received his second personal foul penalty and was ejected from the game.
Richburg's penalty also took cost the Giants 15 yards. The drive ended with a Manning interception a few plays later.
Earlier in the game Norman received a 15-yard personal foul for a late hit on defenseless receiver Sterling Shepard, which is the probable motive for Richburg's hit on Norman.
It should also be noted that the rule was adopted in part due to Beckham and Norman's antics when the two played against and targeted each other during a game last year.
