Giants' Victor Cruz: 'We Can't Have Any Lapses'
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Giants' wide receiver Victor Cruz joined Mike Francesa on Tuesday evening to talk about the Giants' offensive struggles and their upcoming clash with the Green Bay Packers.
Giants fans are baffled by their team's recent losing stretch. Francesa asked Cruz what kind of affect the bye week would have on the Giants before their huge test against the Packers in Week 12.
"It came at perfect time," Cruz stated. "We had a rough stretch through these first ten games. It hasn't been easy for us. We've been up and down, had some really good games and really good victories."
"We gotta get healthy. I think this bye couldn't have come at a better time," he said.
Cruz said the Cincinatti Bengals played hungrier than the Giants on Sunday.
"You could tell from the very first snap, they were prepared, they were the hungrier team," Cruz explained. "They played like they were going against the defending Super Bowl champions and they wanted to make a statement."
He believes the Giants can improve their focus, especially as the Giants have a target on their backs.
"We have to understand we can't have any lapses in these upcoming weeks. We've got to be able to play strong and play like we're the defending champs," Cruz said.
The Giants' star receivers thinks he and his teammates have what it takes to fight through and keep their focus.
"We can fight through a tough skid," he stated. "We have the resiliency to do it. As a team, we have to be careful not to rely on that too much. We have to continue to stay focused and understand we have to go into these games and win them."
