Rolle On The FAN: NFL Crackdown "Ridiculous"
NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Giants safety Antrel Rolle joined Benigno & Roberts to recap Sunday's messy win against the Detroit Lions.
"We're playing great team football," Rolle said. "Guys have been doing an excellent in the pass rush as well as the defensive [run] stops."
Detroit's starting quarterback Shaun Hill broke his left arm late in the first half and spent part of the second half on the sideline with his arm in a sling.
"It's not anything that's intentional," Rolle said regarding the Giants knocking out yet another quarterback. "It's all a part of football, and things of that nature are going to occur."
Speaking of injuries, the NFL announced Tuesday that they will start suspending players for dangerous and flagrant hits, particularly those involving helmets. Rolle doesn't agree with the NFL.
"I think that's absolutely ridiculous," said the Giants' safety. "Once you start that... that's when you start getting a very, very timid football game."
"Now you're just suspending people for playing the game," Rolle added.
