Giants Place Ross On IR, Will Hill Added To Active Roster
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — The New York Giants have placed cornerback Aaron Ross on injured reserve and added two other defensive backs as they prepare for Sunday's matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Safety Will Hill, who was suspended the first four games of this season for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, was added to the active roster Saturday. The Giants also signed cornerback Charles James from their practice squad and released offensive lineman Dallas Reynolds, a former Eagles player who signed Tuesday.
Ross, the Giants' first-round draft choice in 2007, injured his back last week in a loss to Kansas City. He had started the last two games at left cornerback.
Hill played in 12 games last season but also missed four games while serving a suspension for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances. James was signed as a rookie free agent from Charleston Southern in May but was cut during training camp.
