Giants' Jenkins On WFAN: Defense 'Confused' By Up-Tempo Eagles
NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins says the New York Giants "mentally weren't into the game like we should have been" after being blown out by the Eagles in Philadelphia on Sunday night.
Jenkins admitted to WFAN's Kim Jones and Carl Banks on Monday night that the defensive unit was flustered by Philly's up-tempo offense.
"I think a lot of breakdowns came from just the speed of their offense, a lack of communication between the players," he said. "There were a lot of times where guys were confused as to what assignment they had or what the call was, and that's something that we had practiced all week. We thought we were prepared for it. Obviously, we weren't."

Jenkins said that the coaching staff dialed up the pace in preparation for the Eagles, but Big Blue wasn't able to execute.
Philadelphia scored a field goal on its opening drive as quarterback Nick Foles led the team to a 10-point first-quarter lead. The Giants would fall behind 20-0 going into the half, and the rout was on.
The Eagles won 27-0.
"We weren't able to get things turned around when they went bad," Jenkins said. "They came out and punched us in the mouth from the opening drive, and we were never able to regroup."
