Giants' Brown Could Face Fine Over Concussion Tweet
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Andre Brown left Sunday's game after suffering a concussion returning a kickoff in the first quarter. His tweet could have him in hot water with the league.
The Giants' running back did not return as New York defeated the Browns 41-27.
Brown tweeted "Everything is okay" during the game at 2:12 p.m. on Sunday. The tweet was removed from his account later.
According to the NFL's social media policy, Brown would be violating league rules because he tweeting during the Giants' game.
"Players, coaches and football operations personnel can use Twitter, Facebook and other social media up to 90 minutes before kickoff, and after the game following traditional media interviews. During games, no updates will be permitted by the individual himself or anyone representing him on his personal Twitter, Facebook or any other social media account."
Chad Ochocinco was fined $25,000 for violating the NFL's Twitter policy in 2010.
Earlier this season, Brown was fined $15,750 for a horse collar tackle made during a week two win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
