George Washington Bridge, 1 WTC To Be Lit Up In Super Bowl Colors
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — The George Washington Bridge isn't taking sides. It will be lit up in Bronco orange and Seahawk green for the Super Bowl.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey installed 156 orange and green LED lights on the bridge between the two states.
They will be lighted every night leading up to the big game starting Wednesday.
The George Washington Bridge is also featured on the NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee's logo.
In Manhattan, the Empire State Building is teaming up with Verizon this week for what's being touted as "the first-ever social media-driven" light show. The top of the iconic skyscraper is being lit up nightly in team colors based on Twitter responses to a game-related topic.
The spire atop One World Trade Center is also getting in on the Super Bowl festivities. It'll be lit orange and bright green to honor both teams.
The team's colors will alternate until the game's conclusion, and then the winning team's color will remain lit up.

Super Bowl XLVIII between the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks will be played Sunday at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, N.J.
