Gas Prices On The Rise In New Jersey
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- Motorists were seeing slightly higher prices at the pumps in New Jersey.
AAA Mid-Atlantic said the average price of regular gasoline in the Garden State on Friday was $2.61, up a penny from a week ago.
That's still less than a year ago, when New Jersey motorists were paying $2.64.
Meanwhile, the national average price fell one cent to $2.77. The national average a year ago was $2.65.
AAA Mid-Atlantic spokeswoman Tracy Noble said the relative stability of gas prices is a "sign of weak summer demand." She said that, along with falling crude oil prices and continued signs of a sluggish economic recovery, will likely keep gas prices stable over the next few weeks.
