Garfield Homeowner Helps Police Catch Burglary Suspect
GARFIELD, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A New Jersey woman had to think quick after two people allegedly broke into her home and tried to get away.
The woman, who asked not to be identified by name, called 911 after she heard the suspects in her Garfield home Wednesday afternoon, CBS 2 reported.
Before police arrived, the homeowner had to make a quick decision when the suspects -- a man and a woman -- started to make a run for it, CBS 2 reported.
The homeowner tackled the female suspect and held her down until police arrived.
"At first I didn't know what I should do, so I pushed her in the driveway," the homeowner said.
Responding officers caught the male suspect on a nearby street.
Both suspects have been arrested and face burglary charges.
