Crash Leaves Northbound Garden State Parkway With 10-Mile Delay
EAST ORANGE, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A 10-mile delay snagged the northbound Garden State Parkway area late Wednesday, following a crash in the East Orange.
The delay stretched from Route 138 to Route 147 as of about 5:40 p.m., Joe Biermann reported from Chopper 2.
A driver hit a row of impact attenuators – the barrels full of sand that are intended to reduce damage to vehicles, structures and drivers during a collision.
The delay was expected to persist for at least an hour, and the New Jersey Turnpike was suggested as an alternative.
