10 Alleged Gang Members Arrested In Hempstead
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Over the past few months, 10 people have been arrested for drug trafficking, gang-related crimes and gun possession in Hempstead.
The 10 arrested are being called violent gang members who terrorized their own community of Hempstead, WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reports.
"These are a combination of gun offenses, gang involvement, gang assault, and even a menacing on a Hempstead police officer," said Nassau County Police Chief Steve Skrynecki. "The focus here again is on gangs and violent crime."

The chief said more arrests are expected.
Also in Hempstead, police are searching for suspects who killed three people in three separate murder cases in the past week. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers. All calls are confidential.
