Funkmaster Flex Faces Domestic Violence Charges
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Iconic hip-hop DJ Funkmaster Flex was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence.
Flex, whose real name is Aston G. Taylor, was picked up by Greenburgh police officers early Friday morning following a 911 call.
A 40-year-old woman accused Taylor of shoving her to the floor, smacking a phone out of her hand and smashing it as she was trying to call for help.
The victim said Taylor sent threatening text messages to her earlier.
Police arrested Taylor in his car a short distance from the scene.
Taylor faces harassment and criminal mischief charges.

As Funkmaster Flex, Taylor holds a prominent spot in the hip-hop community. He's been a top DJ at New York's hip-hop radio station Hot 97 for years, has released numerous mix albums, and has since spun off his own television show focusing on cars.
Taylor posted $500.00 bail and was released. He is due back in court on Friday, February 18.
