Friends Say Goodbye To Ad Exec Who Fell From Balcony, Died
WOODBURY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Family and friends paid their last respects Sunday to an advertising executive who plunged 17 stories to her death from a Midtown balcony.
Services were held for Jennifer Rosoff, 35, in Woodbury, Long Island on Sunday.
Rosoff plunged to her death when her metal balcony railing gave way at 400 E. 57th St. early Thursday morning.
Rosoff had been sitting on the railing when she fell. Police have ruled out alcohol and foul play in the accident.
The city Department of Buildings was still investigating the collapse on Sunday.
The law requires a licensed expert to inspect balconies on buildings like this every five years -- 400 East 57th was last inspected in February of this year, officials said. There are no recent complaints or violations on record, pertaining to the balconies.
Building management said late last week that it is fully cooperating with the investigation. Tenants who spoke with CBS 2's Andrea Grymes Friday said they've had no complaints about how the building is maintained.
