Friars Club Under Federal Investigation
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The legendary Friars Club is under federal investigation.
The exclusive club, at 57 E. 55th St. in Midtown, is best known for its roasts of celebrities.
But sources told CBS2 Tuesday that the U.S. Postal Inspection Service is one of the federal agencies that was involved in a search of the club this week.
The reason of the search is not known. The Postal Inspection Service told 1010 WINS the probe involves the Friars Club, but is part of a wider investigation.
The U.S. Attorney would not comment on the matter.
