Freeport Man Accused Of Impersonating Soldier At JFK Airport To Get First Class Upgrade
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Police say a Long Island man is accused of posing as a soldier so he could be bumped to first class on a flight to John F. Kennedy Airport.
Port Authority police arrested 22-year-old Rock Diaz of Freeport on charges of second-degree impersonation.
Police say he was arrested on Friday after landing at JFK on a flight from the Dominican Republic.
The Post reported that a customs official asked Diaz his rank and he gave an answer that didn't match the insignia on the camouflage fatigues he was wearing.
The paper says Diaz claimed he did nothing wrong and blamed the confusion on a language barrier.
