LISTEN: Francesa, Caller Engage In Fiery Debate Over A-Rod
NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Mike Francesa got worked up Tuesday when a caller took him to task for defending Alex Rodriguez's play.
"To say that he gets a pass because he's leading the team in home runs and RBIs is ridiculous, OK?" Rich from Point Lookout, Long Island, said of the Yankees slugger. "Because if the other guys were hitting, he would look even worse than he is right now."
Francesa's response?
"The guy hit three home runs in the last four games, you clown!" he said. "What the heck's wrong with you? Are you watching the games or not? He hit three home runs in the last four games! Twice he gave you the lead in the national TV game against (Boston's David) Price on Sunday night. He hit a two-run homer and a two-run double to give the team the lead twice. You're going to blame him for the loss?
"He's not the problem right now. If they all were doing what A-Rod's doing, they'd be much better off."
