Former White House Attorney, Michael Farren, Sentenced For Attempted Murder Of Wife
NEW CANAAN, Conn. (CBSNewYork) - The former White House attorney who has been convicted of the attempted murder of his wife in their New Canaan, Conn., home four years ago was sentenced to 15 years in prison Thursday.
Michael Farren was general counsel at Xerox when in 2007, George H.W. Bush named him Deputy White House Counsel, WCBS 880's Connecticut Bureau Chief Fran Schneidau reported.

Mary Margaret Farren told the court Thursday that the brutal attack left her constantly fearful.
At trial, she told jurors her husband attacked her after she served him with divorce papers. She said he strangled her, pounding her head repeatedly on the floor while telling her, "I'm killing you." He then reached for a metal flashlight, beating her head with it.
Suffering permanent injury, Ms. Farren won a $28 million judgment against her husband.
