Spokesman: Former New York Gov. George Pataki May Enter 2012 Presidential Race
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Former New York Governor George Pataki may join the growing list of Republicans seeking the White House in 2012, according to spokesman.
David Catalfamo told the Associated Press that Pataki was taking a harder look at running for the White House in 2012.

Among the factors weighing on Pataki's mind include what the spokesman called a lack of serious by President Barack Obama to deal with the nation's debt and a thin Republican field.
For months, Pataki and his supporters have been hinting at a potential run, and have been putting out feelers in search of support, the Daily News reported.
There's no word yet on when Pataki may make an announcement.
Pataki is a moderate, and would join a field led by fierce conservatives like Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry. Libertarian Ron Paul is also leading the pack following the Iowa Straw Poll, but most observers consider his chances of winning the Republican nomination a long shot at best.
Pataki has recently visited Iowa and New Hampshire. He has formed a non-profit called No American Debt, which is running ads in both those states.
Pataki served three terms as Governor of New York. He was in office during the 9/11 attacks. He reportedly considered running for Senate in 2009, but passed on it.
