Former L.I. Community Theater Director Charged With Possessing Child Pornography
LINDENHURST, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - A former director of a community theater group on Long Island has been arrested for child pornography.
Suffolk County Police arrested 42-year-old Vincent Sparagano of Lindenhurst Wednesday morning and charged him with one count of possessing a sexual performance by a child.
Sparagano is already on probation after being convicted of endangering the welfare of a child in Nassau County.
In that incident, Suffolk police said Sparagano sent multiple messages with suggestive and inappropriate comments to a 14-year-old who was part of the theater group.
Sparagano's cell phone and computer were searched as part of his probation. The pornographic images were found on his computer, police said.
Sparagano is a former director of productions for the Lindenhurst-based Spotlight Players.
He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Sept. 6.
