Folk Legend Peter Yarrow Comes Out For N.J. Boy In Need Of Bone Marrow Transplant
FAIR LAWN, N.J. (CBSNewYork) - A folk music legend is lending a helping hand to a little Bergen County boy in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant.
4-year-old Ezra Fineman of Fair Lawn loves space shuttles, volcanoes, and Puff the Magic Dragon, says his mom Robin.
"It has been his favorite song since he was a baby," she told WCBS 880 reporter Marla Diamond.
When Peter Yarrow heard that at New Jersey book signing Robin's parents attended, he wanted to help the boy with a rare immune deficiency disorder called Hyper IgM Syndrome.

Ezra has already had a cord blood transplant.
"He endured high-dose chemotherapy and nearly three months of isolation in the hospital and then a long recovery time period at home, but unfortunately, the transplant didn't take," Robin said.
He's been waiting for three years for a bone marrow transplant.
"His body is unable to make antibodies in order to fight off infection," Robin said.
Yarrow is holding a benefit concert Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Highline Ballroom in Chelsea to raise money to process kits for the Gift of Life bone marrow registry. Click here to buy tickets.
