Flood-Ravaged Staten Island Resident Hopes For Powerball Win
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Powerball jackpot for Saturday night's drawing has soared to $325 million, and some Superstorm Sandy victims in Staten Island are hoping to turn their luck around.
As WCBS 880's Jim Smith reported, Bob Jacob hasn't had much luck lately. Sandy washed seven feet of water into his home, and he has had to sleep at friends' and relatives' homes as he dreams of winning a Powerball jackpot.

As it is, Jacob said his goal is to "move out of New York. My house is gone."
But a Powerball win could be enough to change his mind and rebuild with some improvements\
"I might stay in Staten Island, because it's enough to build a wall around the house for the next flood, but I think I had enough," he said.
If someone in the hard-hit borough had a change of fortune, Jacob said it could help improve Staten Island's chances against another storm.
"Maybe they'll help us get a seawall built along the shore," he said.
With $325 million, Jacob said, he could even build that seawall himself.
