Flood-Prone Morris County Homes To Be Bought Out For Open Space
LINCOLN PARK, NJ (CBSNewYork) - Some who live in Morris County's flood-prone areas, such as along Riveredge Road in Lincoln Park, have simply walked away. Their homes are boarded up after one flood too many.

Others praying for a buyout, but it's a struggle.
"Keep making phone calls and keep making phone calls, but the process is like forever. A year, two years. Meanwhile you get flooded again and again and again, and you're in limbo. You don't know what to do," one woman told WCBS 880 reporter Sean Adams.
This won't solve the problem, but it might help some people.
There is to be money for buyouts from the county, $16 million to start, along with matching dollars from FEMA and state funds.
Towns can apply for the money, buy homes, bulldoze them, and preserve the land as open space.
