4 Passengers Booted Off United Flight From Newark To Paris For Messing With Overhead Bins
NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A flight from Newark Liberty International Airport to Paris was delayed Monday, after four men alarmed the pilot when they opened several overhead bins near the cockpit.
The four French-speaking men aboard United Airlines Flight 56 to Paris were detained for suspicious behavior before the plane took off, the Transportation Security Administration told CBS 2.
The pilot asked to have the men removed from the flight, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
The men were questioned, but were not charged and instead allowed to get on another flight, the Port Authority said.
Meanwhile, all the passengers were taken off the plane, and their bags were rescreened.
Dogs checked out the men's luggage with an abundance of caution, but found nothing, the TSA said.
