Flag Day: Stars & Stripes On Display

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Red, white and blue are proudly on display today.

June 14 marks Flag Day.

The holiday commemorates the day the Continental Congress adopted the stars and stripes as our flag in 1777.

It wasn't until 1949 that Congress established it as a day of observance.
