Fisherman Finds Severed Foot On New Jersey Beach
OCEAN CITY, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Police in New Jersey were trying Wednesday night to figure out the source of a severed foot that was found by a fisherman.
The fisherman was out fishing the beach at Corson's Inlet State Park in Ocean City around 1 p.m. Tuesday, when he found an Adidas ADI Rise 2 high-top shoe with the severed foot inside.
New Jersey State Police on Wednesday released a photograph of the sneaker, with the hope that the remains could be identified.
The shoe was size 5 1/2, police said.
There was evidence of toenail polish on the right foot, but it was not known Wednesday night whether the foot belonged to a male or a female.
The remains were to be sent to the New Jersey State Anthropologist for DNA testing.
Anyone with information was asked to call the New Jersey State Police Major Crime Unit at (609) 561-1800, ext. 3355.
