First Responders To Be Honored At 9/11 Cleanup Anniversary
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- This month marks 10 years since cleanup at the World Trade Center site officially ended.
Rescue and recovery workers who helped in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks are planning to gather at the 9/11 memorial on May 30th to commemorate the anniversary.
The ceremony will honor the sacrifices of those whose efforts "were nothing short of heroic," Mayor Michael Bloomberg, chairman of the 9/11 memorial, said Tuesday.
Spots for the event will be limited.
