Firefighters Find Body After Extinguishing Blaze In Abandoned Subway Room
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Authorities say a body was found by firefighters who were putting out a fire inside an abandoned room of a subway station.
Someone called 911 about the fire around 9 p.m. Sunday at the 63rd Street and Lexington Avenue subway station in an abandoned crew room.
As firefighters were extinguishing the blaze, officials say they found the body of a man inside the room.
The medical examiner will determine an exact cause of death. The man has not yet been identified and police and fire marshals are investigating.
