FDNY Battles Large Blaze At Vacant Factory In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- More than 130 firefighters were battling a blaze inside a commercial building in Brooklyn on Monday night, the FDNY said.
The fire, which went to five alarms late Monday evening, started shortly after 3 p.m. in a vacant, two-story factory on Fulton Street in East New York that used to be a food processing plant.
The fire was still burning into the early morning hours of Tuesday.
The blaze caused a suspension on the J line from Broadway Junction to Jamaica Center – Parsons/Archer.
The FDNY said 138 firefighters and 33 units responded to the fire.
Six firefighters suffered minor injuries. Three were treated on the scene and three were transported to an area hospital.
