Fire Rips Through Row Of Amityville Shops
AMITYVILLE, N.Y. (CBS 2/AP) -- Firefighters from seven Long Island departments battled a fast-moving fire along a row of stores in Amityville.
There were no reports of injuries.
The fire was reported at 3:01 a.m. Thursday at a shopping center along Montauk Highway and Route 110. A portion of the roadway was closed to traffic for several hours.
The blaze was brought under control at about 11 a.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
It is not yet known how many stores have been damaged.
